OnePlus X, meet the iPhone 5S
The first thing you might notice about the OnePlus X is not its reasonable $249 price tag, but that it looks like someone took bits and pieces of trademark Android phone design and grafted it to an oversized iPhone 5 (or 5S). The OnePlus X’s boxy rectangular body, coupled with the 14 pairs of holes at the bottom that pump sound in and out, are dead giveaways....

Hack Brief: TalkTalk Now Says Hackers Only Hit 4 Percent of Its Users
WHEN THE UK telecom TalkTalk admitted it had been hit with a “significant and sustained cyberattack” last month, the security community imagined sophisticated Chinese hackers—not the gaggle of British teenagers who were later arrested for the breach. Now it seems TalkTalk may have overblown the damage from that breach too, raising fears of a massive data spill when in fact ju...

The Land That the Internet Era Forgot
FOR A GUY born and raised in Mexico, Roberto Gallardo has an exquisite knack for Southern manners. That’s one of the first things I notice about him when we meet up one recent morning at a deli in Starkville, Mississippi. Mostly it’s the way he punctuates his answers to my questions with a decorous “Yes sir” or “No sir”—a verbal tic I associate with my own Mississippi...
